BACK TO THE BEGINNING

BACK TO THE BEGINNING

I have now listened through all my ways of editing styles, and have found that one of my first setups is the best.

My idea from the start of using the Drum Editor in its basic version works better than the more advanced version that works with a selected Master effect.
The basic version based on a selected Insert effect also works better.

I have also found that I have used the Reverb Room incorrectly, because I have reduced the bass drums too much, without this having been necessary.
Using the Reverb Room as an Insert effect for drums and perc also in many cases makes it necessary to leave out other effects to make room for them, which is avoided by adding Ambience with the basic Drum Editor.

It is more and more my opinion that Reverb Room as an Insert effect sabotages the dynamics of drums and percs, and that Ambience should rather be added with the basic Drum Editor.

Further tests remain to confirm/deny this.

All this also reduces the need to limit the output level; only a few dB reduction is required.
I have reduced the level somewhat compared to the original, so that the level never exceeds -20dB, which minimizes the risk of negative compression.

It is strange to notice that one's first intuition about what is best is always right in the end.
