A LITTLE MORE ABOUT STYLE CREATOR BOT
I have now converted several hundred high-quality midi files.
The result so far is 40 styles that are better than they could have been with Style Works.
I have left many out for final processing, simply because I don't like all kinds of music; many more styles than these 40 have worked as they should.
Here are some typical "errors" that occur during conversion:
1: Melody tracks are often included in Variations, which works poorly - SCB is unable to detect melody tracks particularly well, which is very understandable, because harmonies can be complex and unpredictable - try an atonal song, and see what happens.
Even the best AI in the world cannot do this without many errors.
2: Intro 1 is often too short, so that Variation 1 starts incorrectly. Ending 2 is also often too short, so that the song stops before it is actually finished.
3: In some cases, Fills are missing, but this is because there are no natural Fills in all songs - I have created many with Style Works without Fills.
4: Several or all style parts can often start and stop in the wrong place, which is not SCB's fault - many (even high-quality midis) are poorly synchronized. With Style Works, I very often corrected poor synchronization, which in the best case (1/32 value) without correction resulted in a missing first bass beat. Also in many cases, the synchronization was wrong with a value up to 1/2 from the middle and outwards, and Style Works cannot fix this, because it can only give a global value for the entire midi file. A midi editor can fix this, however.
If SCB had had the ability to create and move markers, these midi files would have worked as they should, and all style parts would have started and stopped in the right place.
5: Transposition is a widespread problem with SCB - many styles are assigned the wrong key in both Intro 1 and Ending 1.
However, this is completely understandable and expected, and Style Works did this much worse.
For some unknown reason, SCB transpositions is rarely possible to correct with Pa5X.
In any case, SCB works far better than Style Works, and in comparison, I have worked with many thousands of midi files in Style Works, but have only managed to create a few hundred styles - of varying quality.
SCB is capable of creating many more very good styles with a keystroke..!
