These are styles that are made from MIDI, and are programmed as Playback. Certain styles have to be created this way, because they do not work as Neutral. This means you only need to hold one chord throughout the song. Otherwise, everything works as before. Yamaha makes many Dance styles in this way, but I started with this long before Yamaha.

Combi styles are a mix of normal and Playback. Typically, I choose 2 Mains as Neutral, and 2 as Playback. This gives new possibilities for variations.

My DJ styles for Pa5X have extended possibilities for chord progressions. These are inspired by Paul J. Drongowski's styles made for Yamaha, which he took from the Yamaha DJX-II. I have used midi files to achieve the same, but my DJ styles do not have the limitations that Yamaha's have; that the chord progressions are cooked into the patterns (just like intros and endings in regular styles). Yamaha's SCP styles are also an example of DJ styles with locked chord progressions. My DJ styles can be played quite freely with most chords.

CHELLO`S ADJACENT TIME SIGNATURE STYLES As far as I know, this is a type of styles that has not previously been created for arrangers. I have drawn inspiration from the Korg OASYS and Kronos, which use a time-shifted start-up for their rhythm patterns. This gives an effect much like Korg's Round Robin drums, but is perceived as even more alive, because they hit slightly outside the center point of the beat. And by the way - this is something I have personally invented - it does not exist on the market.

With the Pa5X, certain styles can function quite like Karma Combinations when programmed in Playback and have many bars in each Variation. If you hold a chord, the entire melody line plays just like a midi file, while if you change the chord, the Pa5X creates a new arpeggio, adapted to your chord, just as Karma would have done. No other arranger can do anything similar.
