What parameters determine that a style should be Freestyle ?

What parameters determine that a style should be Freestyle ?

I ask, because I wonder if all tracks in an FS style can be replaced with tracks from a regular one - without it being changed to a regular style ?

Is FS locked in the deep structure of the file, or does CV1 to CV6 have something to do with this ?

Remembering my Korg days, the CV1 - CV6 can be set to produce small changes in the style pattern dependant on the chord played Major...Minor...Diminished etc: which is less repetitive and which can be very musical.

Exactly.
When I try the different CV1 - CV6, there is a big difference in the harmonization.

But when I save a change, it doesn't play this but plays the original CV, without me knowing why.
