PLANNED PROJECT: ADDING EFFECTS IN RIGHT SOUNDS AND PADS

PLANNED PROJECT: ADDING EFFECTS IN RIGHT SOUNDS AND PADS

My ongoing edits will take quite a while to finish, but I've already planned to continue these by adding effects in Master FX B.

I'm pretty sure that acoustic pianos in particular could be greatly improved by adding a suitable reverb; probably O-verb or Reverb Room.

In addition, the Stereo Limiter is an obvious choice for increasing dynamics.

It’s definitely the use of effects that turn a flat sounds into a 3 dimensional sound.

Now I’m using the mixer eq to adjust where a sound is on stage as well as panning or course.

Incidentally as the limiter in the master eq / limiter is literally the last in the chain in the case of a daw the mastering stage.

Are you still using the limiter in the global.

I use the limiter globally, because this works optimally.

I think the combination of the hall and room reverb is much better than using overb having done some experiments. I will upload a style as before to see what you think.

You made the right choice in choosing Stereo Limiter instead of Stereo Compressor, and it wouldn't surprise me that you're right now too, because Room Reverb has its limitations; it somehow lacks something, while O-verb has too much.

I see that Korg on the Pa5X also uses Stereo Limiter and Hall/Room Reverb on the styles that work best.

It may appear that you are right:
I did some tests with Reverb Hall, and by setting all parameters to minumum except Mid/High +15.0 I achieved an airiness for drums and perc that Reverb Room has no chance to manage.
At the same time, I used the effect on all other instruments, and got better results than with O-verb.
I entered the effect as Master Fx.

More testing is needed; I have not been able to test at realistic sound levels through the main speakers, but I think that Hall will have an extreme effect on brushes in jazz styles; and if this is true, I will achieve a faithfulness to nature that surpasses Kronos.

The difference between these two styles is absolutely insane.  39

I just think the room and hall reverb are easier to work with because the parameters are closer to those of reverb plugins.

The second style sounds like it’s more in an open space.

I’ve also experimented with the pre eq both in the room and hall reverb.

I find that cutting the low eq in the room being cut to -15 prevents thing becoming too muddy.

The damping it pretty much like the early reflections giving a sense of emptiness.

As far as the stereo limiter is concerned I set the threshold as low as it will go (40) then raise it listening how a sound changes, but before this I’ve set the ratio, attack and release to half way.

All the time listening. But one critical note is that the stereo limiter needs to be set after the reverb because the change is dramatic between the dry and wet sounds.

You give a good description of what my other style is like, because open space is exactly what I've tried to create.
I like studio and open space best, depending on the type of style.

It is quite funny that you have had the exact same experiences as me.
You have studied the theories, while I have adjusted everything possible to find the desired effect - nevertheless we have arrived at the same thing.

And a lot of head scratching in the process

Yes with the eq in the mixer tuning this can be used to bring an individual sound further away or closer. How things changed before referring to the of eq to improve a sound but in actual fact it’s now where a sound sits in a stereo soundscape. But have you not noticed using the dual reverb or your ambient styles that the effect is pretty much the same on whatever the device your listening the sound through.
