Styles and Sounds Everywhere
#1
I’m guessing we all hear or at the point where over time we have collected many 1000s of style and sounds for our various makes and models of Arrangers.

Some we may or may ever use but just can’t stop collecting.

What is important in this chaos is to have some sort of organisation or a word used alot today ( de cluttering).

What are your methods for organising, sorting your content that you have collected?

For me as there is so much content available for Yamaha Arrangers in particular everything can become disorganised chaos as indeed the hard drive / usb can also become a mess.

One for the Yamaha Arranger Owners how do you keep your hard drive organised?

its a good point I usually download mostly out of curiosity  and disgard as there are so many poor stlyes out there.
I use colour coding for different styles and rgts.
I find YEM packs the worse as you have to load them before you find out if there good or not.
This site have good stuff on them and keep them.
i rarely down anything on other sites
i would love to get rid of duplicates

@Musical Memories

Although I am now a Korgie, I have used the same system for all arrangers and synths, which is based on colour coding, my favorite system, also used on my styles from MIDI - with the same colours as on the Pa5X's buttons for style playback.

Duplicates are a perennial problem; especially as far as Yamaha is concerned.

I mark folders that contain eg jazz styles with dark blue, jazz pads a slightly lighter blue, etc.
Each genre has its colour and associated lighter variations.
I have had many different color systems over the years.

Tyros4 was practical, because it was possible to create icons as desired.
This has not been prepared for Pa5X yet, but is expected to come.

My bad I’ve been soo busy on my Pa700 of late.

My Tyros must be feeling neglected but I hope to bring what I’ve learned of to that.

You should definitely spend more time on the Tyros4, because in my opinion this is among the best on the market, and incredibly easy to work with, plus everything works easily optimally.

In addition, the sounds are generally very good, in fact some are better than those on the Pa5X.
The drum kits are also generally very good.

It is much easier to mix well with Tyros4 than Pa before Pa5X.
