NIGHTLY UPDATE

NIGHTLY UPDATE

Midi To Style can involve a lot of extra work sometimes.
When I start creating a style, I first test the midi file; whether it sounds interesting, and how many instruments which has a melody voice - the fewer melody voices, the better.

I work in this order to save unnecessary work in Anvil Studio - there is no point in correcting transposition if the midi file is unsuitable as a style.

In the last few days I have collected all the midi files I have worked with for the last 7 years; about 15,000 styles.
These are saved in STS format, which is Style Works' work file format, and which can easily be saved as style.

I just listened through a work file with a raw Reggae, and found that it had to be corrected by -3 in transposition.
This file has 15 drum tracks, which means I have to repeat the process 14 times extra, because Anvil Studio does not have the ability to select all current tracks and correct them in one operation.

Files like this are the reason I only use Anvil Studio when I know the style is worth the work.

I work around the clock sometimes.  28
This has its origins in the fact that my wife works shifts, but also in the fact that I can not let go of things I work with so easily.

I just got a brilliant idea, which I have to follow up:
I found a way to streamline my work that will revolutionize the progress of finished styles from Style Works work files.

I set all parts to Neutral, and in this way I can also make Freeplay (with fixed tempo) styles much easier than before.
I thereby avoiding correcting transposition, and automatically finding the most suitable files, because I test one by one in Style Works.

All styles that have voices that do not have a clear melody line as well as simple intro and ending can be used.
These are real universal styles, because you are quite free to choose the melody line for intro and ending.

@musicalmemoriesuk

That is for sure.
Already 30 years ago I had to acknowledge that knowledge breeds knowledge; the more I learned, the easier it became to understand previously incomprehensible things.

Most people are happy to take a certificate, and then finish all studies - for the rest of their lives.

I will never finish my studies.  65
