9000 PRO ONWARDS
The 9000 Pro is the best purchase I have ever made and I have many projects planned with this.
I have some predictions - I think this outperforms the Pa5X in several areas:
It is better in standard setup than both Audya and Pa5X, and the styles tracks appear as tracks that can be separated from each other, and not a soup of cloudy sounds, as with Audya and Pa5X - in direct comparison.
I predict that styles from midi will be better than ever, a lot because almost all midis are XG based, which the 9000 Pro is also.
For now I have to work with floppy disks, but will try to get hold of an IDE disk that can be installed, and connect the 9000 Pro to a Win95 based PC via the SCSI connection on the keyboard.
Before that happens, I need to transfer files to the floppy via a USB floppy drive that I have (somewhere).
I am very excited about how the styles I create will work on other Yamaha models, and that is precisely why I always avoid saving edits as RGT - I save them in the style itself, so that all models should theoretically work optimally.
The broken key has not been fixed yet, but I have studied the descriptions in the service manual, and will do this soon.
