PA5X: ONLY SUPPORT FOR GM AND XG..?
Korg Pa models have for years supported GM2 - many sounds used for internal styles were actually GM2.
Korg seems to be proud that the Pa5X has over 2200 sounds, but I don't share their enthusiasm.
Why not ?
Because this obviously comes at the expense of GM2 sounds, for which according to the manual no support is stated; GM and XG only.
In my opinion, there are a lot of basses, guitars and pianos that I never use, because they don't have a sound that suits my needs.
It would have been better if they had fewer sounds in each category, but more formats, such as GM2 and XG (more XG than they have, because there are too few).
XG is the best format - everything can be converted perfectly if you have enough XG sounds.
