Woody certainly has a point here.
Incidentally, there has been a very negative development towards exclusively song styles, while universal styles were more common in the 80s and 90s.

The most extreme case is Genos1 with its Playback Dance styles, where you cannot choose free chords, but must play as the style is programmed. Useless..!
What is particularly bad about modern styles is the bass line, which is very primitive and repetitive.

There are almost no styles on the market with really good bass lines.
