HOW TO TRICK THE PUBLIC INTO BUYING SOMETHING

HOW TO TRICK THE PUBLIC INTO BUYING SOMETHING

Peter Baartmans works hard to ensure that everyone who listens to his demonstrations runs to the nearest store and buys what he demonstrates.

The problem is that you get NOTHING from this, because EVERYTHING comes from his own USB stick.

I remember well when he demonstrated Genos1, also with his own USB stick:
He played a Django Reinhardt jazz style that was absolutely fantastic.
I ran and bought the Genos1, only to discover that the style was not there - nor could I find it in any package available for purchase.

He also demonstrated the near-field microphone technique used on piano samples, but this was also impossible to do with my Genos1, because the samples were not available on a standard Genos1.
I ran the video frame by frame, doing exactly what Baartmans did, only to find that nothing happened.

All indications are that the same is the case with Genos2 - what you hear is not what you buy.

It should be illegal to demonstrate a product, without stating that a setup has been used that does not exist on what is being demonstrated.

Peter Baartmans is an excellent musician, but also an excellent trickster.

It's called THE SALES PITCH.

When traveling if Demonstrators can't take their own keyboard, the demonstrator uses shop stock so the reason for a USB containing his setup.
We all know that out of the box keyboards don't sound their best.
I have set up my DGX to sound better and you have set up your Pa5X for the same reason.

Many time at Keyboard Festival UK I have heard people commenting why their same keyboard at home does not sound as good as the Demonstrators.

My working days doing TRADE & PUBLIC speaker demonstrations we alway used the same lab tested demonstration speakers that were close to the specifications.
All of our competitors did the same. Very often we would purchase a competitor's speaker for testing.

I'm not stating the above as an excuse, but that's the way sales are made.

Graham
Thanks for your explanation of how demonstrations are actually done.
That's how it's done, that's how it must be done, and that's how it should be done.

The problem is that Peter Baartmanns does not follow this, because he demonstrates styles and sounds that are not installed on what you buy.

His setup should have been limited to being based on installed styles and sounds, and if not, this should have been stated clearly.

It never happened that he disclosed this, with the consequence that the public is tricked into thinking that this can be played on a standard version.

If I had been a demonstrator, I would have disclosed such conditions, just as when I make my edits, these are almost always presented with an original version for direct comparison.

And all my edits are based on features available to anyone with a standard Pa5X.
If I had used external software or sounds, I would have stated this clearly.
