O-VERB AND STEREO COMPRESSOR DO NOT WORK TOGETHER IN MASTER FX
O-verb does not work with Stereo Compressor when both are active.
Even if all potentiometers for the O-verb are set to zero, the effect is active along with Stereo Compressor as if the potentiometers were turned up when the switch is ON.
O-verb must be turned OFF if Stereo Compressor is used.
I consider this to be a bug, because there are many effects that do not work together, and then these are made unavailable, so that they do not show in the menu.

For my ambient setup i now use overb in master fx1 room reverb in fx 2 (this is the actual ambient part) although both reverbs contribute to the overall ambience depending on what parameters are adjusted.
In the style is use the stereo limiter (as a compressor) on the drums and bass.
But for the lead sound in upper 1 (if needed).
The more i experiment the more i understand what parameters to what.
Whilst we talk about ambience reverb its actually the combination of the two that create the illusion of one effect.

I mostly use the same ones, because I keep as many of Korg's originals as possible; they most often use O-verb and Room Reverb, plus a third that can vary.
They also use a lot of Stereo Limiter as a compressor, as you do.
The case I refer to in this thread consists of O-verb, Stereo Compressor and Room Reverb, and there have been several cases where the acoustics have crashed with these 3, but also some where they work as they should.
This suggests that everything depends on certain settings for certain parameters being followed.
You may have hinted at the solution when you say that O-verb also contribute to an ambience effect; correct parameters must be used.
I will probably be able to confirm this when I have found more cases.
If this is true, there is nothing wrong with Pa5X, but with me.
Perhaps many of the negative remarks I have noted can be attributed to ignorance on my part - who knows.

Alot of things to consider in both reverbs the pre delay, the decay, the eq, and of course the parameters differ from one to another. Yes you can set the early reflections in the room reverb by this also ties in with the diffusion levels in overb and the actual eq.
Higher the eq above 10khz you get a biigger brigter room l and low.values feels darker and more closed in.
But dont forget both the overb and room reverb have there own eq.
Importantly remember to save your experiments as keyboard sets or edited styles.
One other thing to think about the tempo of the song your playing can also have an effect on the overall reverb parameters. So nothing is really fixed its dependent on what your playing.

I think that many people are not aware of this.
I have done some experiments, which show that a higher tempo limits how powerful reverb can be used, while a slower tempo increases the possible reverb.
