Korg Pa5X tutorial: Samples - how to add drum loops to your style

Korg Pa5X tutorial: Samples - how to add drum loops to your style

In this tutorial we are going to take a look at adding sampled loops to our Pa5X. We will create pads with house loops and acoustic loops. Also we will replace the drums from a song style with an acoustic drumloop. For this example we are going to use the song purple rain from prince and replace the midi drums with the acoustic drumloop from the real drummer of prince.

So a really interesting tutorial that will add a lot of value to your pa5x once you know how to do this.

But first an important message. When you start with these things it's absolutely necessary that you have created a backup of your Pa5X, this is because you are going to add a lot of samples to it and if you are making a mistake it will take a lot of time to delete every sample manually. So be sure that you have a backup of your pa5x before you are going to try the things I show in this tutorial. On my youtube channel there is a in depth tutorial for that on how to safely backup and load your backups on the pa5x. So if you didn't do that, watch that first before trying the things I'm going to show you in this tutorial.

sure,
here is the housedrum_full sample I used in the video (124 bpm).

When you have saved it as a timesliced loop and use it on 88 bpm it's also a perfect sample to use for the song: Michael Jackson - They don't really care about us.

Here it is:

Qui
Thanks for another good and comprehensible tutorial.

What immediately strikes me is that the Pa5X is prepared for Audio styles - we only need to create them.

Ketron Event is said to be a notch better than the Pa5X in terms of sound, and this is probably because audio loops are used in the styles.

A fun fact:
Ketron has been using this for years, while Yamaha introduced it first with the Tyros5, and made a big deal out of it.
Korg has remained silent, also with the launch of the Pa5X, although this can use audio styles.

I'm guessing that Korg or others (or ourselves) will create audio styles for the Pa5X, and then the world will really discover how good it is.
