When an individual music sheet is posted up in the Forum you can view it by clicking on the LINK given. When the sheet music appears, look up at the top of the screen and you will see the ‘download’ symbol to click on to Download the file. And a PRINT symbol should you wish to print it.

You will have to specify where you want the download to go. Create a FOLDER to put these song sheets into .. and your computer will put them in there and automatically sort them into Alphabetical Order. So next time you are looking for a song you will know where to go to find it.
 
But when Albums are posted in the Forum, what you get is the name of the Album and you have no idea which songs are in it. So the only way to find out is to open up the album (which is in the form of a PDF file), scroll down to the Index (which may or may not be in alphabetical order), make a note of the Page numbers your song is on, and scroll down to those page numbers so you can view them and print the individual pages out.
 
Now what Fikke did with his Busker Albums was to extract each song from the album and have it as a ‘stand alone’ PDF file, with its File Name the Name of the Song. By putting these into a FOLDER the computer automatically puts them into Alphabetical Order .. and any further Song Titles you add to the list are automatically inserted into their correct place alphabetically.
 
To EXTRACT the songs from an Album you need a PDF program .. and I have one from NCH Software called PicoPDF.
 
When I view an album I am wanting to keep I make a note of the Song Names, the Keys the songs are played in, and the Page Numbers where to find them. My purpose in doing this is so I can extract each song as a ‘stand alone’ PDF file (containing however many pages makes up the song).

Unfortunately, VOICES with endings .vce and .swv are not in the Attachment List so I was not able to make these Voices available directly in an Attachment.
 
Below is the resulting ZIP file I have uploaded as an ATTACHMENT, which includes those two voices.

Select the Folder you have just created as the place to put it.

When putting a picture/image into the Forum there are two basic things to consider.
 
1.  Is the image just showing what it is you are wanting people to look at? 
If you are only wanting to show part of a picture, then CROP it ie. “cut out” the section you are wanting to keep.
2.  Is the SIZE of the picture appropriate for where you are putting it in your post? 
You don’t want the picture to fill the whole screen!  So REDUCE the size of it. 
When taking ‘screenshots’ of my Tyros 4 the resulting images are 640 pixels wide. I reckon this gives a good ‘viewing area’, so have used this number as my ‘standard’ maximum width.
 
You can put images/pictures into your post either by linking to a “cloud” where you have your image stored; or upload them directly into your post using the Attachment option. This will be covered in another thread, as the purpose of this topic is to explain what you should be doing to your image before you upload it.

There are several programs (Apps) you can use to manipulate your pictures.
The one I use is IrfanView, which was recommended to me by a friend of mine. It’s FREE, and does all the things I want it to do, which I find many of these programs do not enable you to do eg. Rotate in 0.1 degree steps left or right to get the picture perfectly horizontal; insert arrows at any angle to draw attention to the points you are trying to make (as above).
 
The program is Windows based. If you want to try it, you can do a Google Search (for irfanview); or go directly to their website by clicking the LINK below and downloading it. 
I have the 4.72, 64 bit version.

If you hover your mouse over any one of the above (in the program, not my picture!), a box comes up explaining what each tool is .. and what it’s used for. A left-click chooses that option .. and for some of them, a right-click gives other options for you to choose (eg. for the ‘arrow’ one, if you want the arrow on the left of the line you are dragging; the right of the line; or an arrow at both ends of the line).
 
The Selection Tool is the one highlighted top left, and is used for ‘Cropping’ the image. You click and hold on your image, dragging your mouse across the image to create a rectangle round the part of the image you want to keep. Then release. You don’t have to be too accurate in doing this as by putting the mouse over the top of any of the lines (left, right, top or bottom) you get a ‘double-arrow’ which you can click on and drag the line in either direction to where you want it.
 
What I want from my image is the VOICE EFFECT .. so have put a rectangle round that.

To ‘keep’ what is in that rectangle (ie. Crop the Selection) we need to go to Edit, and then choose Crop selection (Cut out).

The original photograph I took of my Tyros 4 with my mobile was 4080 x 2296 pixels, and this section of it is  2139 x 523. When I take ‘screenshots’ of my Tyros 4 they are 640 pixels wide, so I reckon that should be the maximum width to use in this Forum .. although I’m sure 700 pixels or even 750 pixels would be acceptable. But certainly not 2139!
 
To reduce the SIZE of the image using IrfanView I need to click on Image at the top, and then Resize/Resample.

In the box that comes up type in the image WIDTH (the HEIGHT is put in automatically to keep the image in proportion).

Another important factor is the Number of Dots per inch/cm the program uses to determine the width. Best to keep this number always the same. 
I have set it at 96.

Now all these programs enable you to Rotate 90˚ clockwise or anticlockwise, so a picture you have in Portrait mode can be changed to Landscape. But this program enables one to rotate clockwise or anticlockwise by 0.1 of a degree at a time.
 
Looking at the above, I reckon my effort to get the photo horizontal was pretty good .. but not perfect! So I shall rotate this image clockwise by 0.3 of a degree.
To do this I click on Image, then Custom/Fine rotation.

And enter the amount of rotation in steps of 0.1˚. I reckon that to get the image horizontal I need to rotate clockwise 0.3˚.
Plus (+) is CLOCKWISE and Minus (-) is ANTICLOCKWISE. (You don’t need to put the PLUS in for clockwise .. only the MINUS when going anticlockwise).

When audio.com was being set up at the very beginning it was a great place to upload your music to, and give out SHARE LINKS for others to listen to your music. They even asked us what we would like to see on their Platform; and the Members of the team were individually contactable by email. I even have some of the original advertising material they put out to persuade you to join; and this is what I had said about them at this time:

Note that everything the Audacity Team do is always FREE, and FOREVER.  They believe that one should not have to pay for programs or storage space when creating music.
 
But now their demeanour has completely changed. They are wanting money for using their services. After all the effort of uploading music to their platform for some considerable time, and inserting pictures relevant to the music uploaded, I am now confronted with this when trying to upload new tracks:
 



They have a ‘FAQ’ section on their Home Page.
Here’s one of them.
 
11.  What happens if I cancel my subscription?
 
If you choose to cancel your subscription or your payment methods fails, access to your projects will be temporarily suspended. You will still be able to use your projects under the Free tier limit, but any access to the remaining projects over that limit will be disabled until you re-activate your subscription or delete the number of projects.
 
So although they say in their Subscription Packages, ‘Cancel anytime’ .. this looks to me like you have to pay them ‘for ever’ as ‘access to your projects will be suspended until you re-activate your subscription’ ... so no one will have access to them.
 
If anyone has been having trouble with listening to any of my Audio Com LINKS in this Forum, please let me know via a PM. In the meantime I am changing all my Audio Com LINKS to Box LINKS.

First, you have to ‘set the keyboard up to take screenshots’.  With all the keyboards you have to make sure there is a Memory Stick inserted into the USB Port at the front (and remove any Memory Stick you have plugged into the back); and that your keyboard is OFF.
 
You then have to hold down three buttons as you turn your keyboard ON.  On most PSR and Tyros keyboards these three buttons are the third and fourth buttons on the top row of the VOICE section, plus the first button in the second row.
 
On the Tyros 4, these three buttons are ORGAN and STRINGS (top row), and GUITAR (second row) .. no easy task, as they are quite far apart ...

... and you turn the keyboard ON at the back!  You have to hold those buttons down until the display has completely loaded on the screen.
 
When you have something on the screen you want to take a picture of, you press the No:8 button in the REGISTRATION MEMORY.

As the picture is being taken you hear ‘fairy bells’ in your headphones (if you’re wearing them).  You can hear the sound it makes in the YouTube video further down.
 
The screenshots are BITMAPS (ie .bmp) and are given the file names CAPT0000.bmp; CAPT0001.bmp; CAPT0002.bmp etc., and they are put on your Memory Stick.  I would then transfer them to my laptop, re-name them .. and save them as JPEG (.jpg), these being smaller files and easier to handle.  

Note: My Tyros 4 won’t do screenshots if there are already some .bmp files on the Memory Stick .. so I DELETE any that are on there using my laptop.
 
With the ‘touch screen’ keyboards (eg. Genos and SX series) the buttons you have to hold down are the BREAK button, and the ENDING 2 and 3 buttons.

And how about other keyboards, like the Korg?  Can you capture the screen on those?  Chello has already asked this question for his Korg Pa5x.

First, you have to ‘set the keyboard up to take screenshots’.  With all the keyboards you have to make sure there is a Memory Stick inserted into the USB Port at the front (and remove any Memory Stick you have plugged into the back); and that your keyboard is OFF.
 
You then have to hold down three buttons as you turn your keyboard ON.  On most PSR and Tyros keyboards these three buttons are the third and fourth buttons on the top row of the VOICE section, plus the first button in the second row.
 
On the Tyros 4, these three buttons are ORGAN and STRINGS (top row), and GUITAR (second row) .. no easy task, as they are quite far apart ...

... and you turn the keyboard ON at the back!  You have to hold those buttons down until the display has completely loaded on the screen.

When you click into the posting box you can just go ahead and type away.  But the reason why I am posting this thread is because of what is likely to happen if you highlight, COPY, and PASTE something into this posting box.  More often than not I prepare what I am going to say in a WORD document, and may COPY and PASTE into it eg. something from Wikipedia.  In this next paragraph I am going to PASTE something I have COPIED from Wikipedia about Elvis Presley.  When I did a PASTE .. this is what appeared in the posting box!  Or nearly didn’t appear (?) as I wasn’t really aware that my PASTE had done anything!

If this has happened to you, you may have decided it is not possible to do anything in this forum other than to make comments as Replies.  Well, I can tell you that your PASTE is there in the box .. it’s just a question of how to get it to appear as a normal bit of typing.
 
What has happened here is that the formatting of what you COPIED isn’t compatible with what is in the posting box.  Look at the BBCodes over the top of the posting box and the one you need is Remove formatting.  This is to the right of the BBCode for colours.

To remove the formatting that has made my PASTE barely visible I must highlight the line that is (barely) showing, and then click on the Remove Formatting BBCode at the top.  I highlight it by clicking at one end with my mouse, holding down and dragging my mouse across to the other end .. then let go.  If you have an iPad or iPhone, highlight the area in the way that you normally would.

At which point the wording will revert to the ‘default’ formatting .. and we get this showing.
Please Note: You may have to click this Remove Formatting button several times!
