Headphones Required. - Graham UK - 07-20-2022 My Sennheiser HD 206 Headphones urgently need new ear pads but the only option is ordering from China...There are no Sennheiser distributors any longer in the UK. May have to think of obtaining another brand ? I still have Audio Technica X40 but they are very warm in this weather. Remember I wear headphones 100% on the keyboard. RE: Headphones Required. - Chello - 07-20-2022 @Graham They are available at amazon.com from the United States https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Sennheiser-Headphones-Earmuffs-Headband/dp/B087M73D7M?th=1 RE: Headphones Required. - Chello - 07-21-2022 @Graham Your case reminded me that the ear pads on my beyerdynamic also need to be replaced. I checked a bit, and found that the vast majority of ear pads have the same dimension; approximately 100mm in outer diameter. My originals are in bad foam rubber, and I found some universal ear pads in leather that are thicker. The result of this replacement is that the headphones become more closed dynamic, which improves the bass. They are also guaranteed to be more comfortable to wear. RE: Headphones Required. - Graham UK - 07-21-2022 I have experimented with different depths of foam and they all sounded different by altering the frequency balance, the deeper the foam the less bass, in some cases this could be beneficial. RE: Headphones Required. - Chello - 07-21-2022 @Graham I have experimented with different depths of foam and they all sounded different by altering the frequency balance, the deeper the foam the less bass, in some cases this could be beneficial. Thank you for sharing your experience - I have the same experience. This generally has a big impact on the frequency balance, and the deeper the foam, the less bass there will be. But; since mine are open dynamic, I achieve being able to get more bass by making the foam denser with leather. This also increases sensitivity in general. It is achieved roughly the same as if you increase the pressure against the ears. |
