40 years of yamaha keyboards - whitecolin1 - 07-02-2026 RE: 40 years of yamaha keyboards - Chello - 07-02-2026 ⚖Colin Thanks a lot for this one. Some surprising facts are revealed quite immediately: The PS-20 had connections on the side panel - and I thought Ketron Event was the first with this. The PS-6100 had a unique design like an Italian sports car from the future - Technics KN-7000 was NOT the first with this design. Absolutely amazing - this should have been standard on ALL arrangers and synths. The PS-6300 was the world's first with velocity. The PSR-4500 had some really unique buttons at the front of the keybed, which was definitely something. I actually recently thought about doing something similar with the Pa5X; mounting a midi foot controller in the same way. The PSR-6700 with functions under a lid. This shows that Yamaha has been pioneers, and developed many designs and functions that should have been resumed. The PS-6100/6300 is my absolute favorite.
RE: 40 years of yamaha keyboards - aprilla - 07-02-2026 45 years of us wanting the next and the next and the next LOL Though my favourite was the PRS 5700, I might have stayed there if it had stayed working. My sister bought her Roland on the same day 35 years ago, and that's still going strong for her, much to her dismay lol 45 years, I wonder if they will bring out a special edition 'something' to celebrate the 50th anniversary?? |
