GENOS TO PA5X EXPERIMENT - Chello - 07-01-2026 GENOS TO PA5X EXPERIMENT For fun, I tested a style from Genos. Here is the result: RE: GENOS TO PA5X EXPERIMENT - mb_pa5x - 07-01-2026 Sounds very good! An open and live sound which is hard to achieve on a Genos. Was it much work to convert the style? Is this a Genos 1 factory style? Thank you very much for your positive feedback, which also gives a good picture of what is worth noting. It is especially interesting that you notice the open and live sound, because I actually had to reduce the amount of reverb - I have not added reverb to any tracks, only ambience for drums. I actually had to disable reverb for the right voices, and still it was a lot. Yamaha styles have a much larger amount of reverb sampled in all sounds than others, which means that all sounds should be able to give an open and live sound without adding reverb, while Genos seems to still give too little. The strange thing is that when a Genos style is converted to Pa5X, the natural reverb is retained in all sounds, and the sound becomes very lively. It is quite demanding to convert Genos styles to Pa5X, but not really that much work; but difficult. Drum kits are always particularly difficult, as you have to search for the best kit, and often mute several drum elements with the Drum Editor. This is a Genos 1 factory style. I will continue this work, largely due to your positive feedback. Genos styles are enormously variable to work with, but many will be able to give good results with some work. RE: GENOS TO PA5X EXPERIMENT - mb_pa5x - 07-01-2026 Thank you very much for your detailed answer. This inspires me to start with style conversion some day. Again this forums is very informative, learned a lot! RE: GENOS TO PA5X EXPERIMENT - Chello - 07-01-2026 (5 hours ago)mb_pa5x Wrote: Thank you for your positive interest. It has always been one of my primary intentions to help others do the same as me. I have been greatly helped by Robinez's professional tips, but have found my own ways of doing things, as I like to put my own signature on what I create. I always try to do the least possible to achieve the most possible. |
