THE BEST ARRANGER FOR CONVERTING STYLES - KORG PA5X

Converting styles from other brands and models (with Style Works) is something I've been doing a lot since 2000.

I've converted most of what's out there, both to Yamaha, Ketron, Roland and Korg - with very varying results, and mostly bad.

I've converted midi to styles to the same extent, with even worse results.

YAMAHA:
I've had several models, and most of them work well both from style to style and midi to style.

The best was for a long time the Tyros 4, but the 9000 Pro is fantastically good and the best regardless of brand and model from midi to style with Style Works.

The worst of all regardless of brand and model was the Genos 1, which gave lousy results regardless of brand and model (including earlier Yamaha models) from style to style, and completely useless results from midi to style with Style Works - the worst I've ever tried.
What a shock THAT was..!
I sold it early; still in shock.

KETRON:
I've only had the Audya models, which give decent results both from style to style and very good results from midi to style with Style Works, but this required a lot of adjustments.

ROLAND:
I've only had the EXR-7 and BK-7m.

The EXR-7 gave very good results from style to style, while midi to style is uncertain, because I learned this later; in 2014.

The BK-7m gave very mediocre results both from style to style and midi to style with Style Works.

KORG:
The Pa3X was my second Korg, with which I learned to make midi to style.
Very variable results from style to style, and Yamaha to Korg worked lousy, while midi to style with Style Works could work well in some cases.

The Pa2X worked better for both types of styles, while the Pa4X worked the worst of all Korg models for both types of styles, and midi to style with Style Works was particularly bad.
Midi to style with the built-in Style Creator Bot was completely useless.

The Pa5X was for a long time quite similar to the Pa4X, and gave poor results from style to style, and midi to style with Style Works also worked poorly.

Then something happened:
OS 1.4 was released, and with it the new version of Style Creator Bot.
EVERYTHING was turned upside down.

Style to style now works better than with any other model regardless of brand, and Style Creator Bot converts midi to fantastically good styles, which are just as good as the internal ones (and have the same resolution).

Of course, there are many errors with the conversion, but these can mostly be corrected quite easily internally.
Midi to style with Style Works also works better than with any other models as long as OS 1.4 is used.
