HOW TO ADD GENUINE AMBIENCE TO DANCE DRUM KITS (KORG) - Chello - 05-20-2026 HOW TO ADD GENUINE AMBIENCE TO DANCE DRUM KITS (KORG) Some have probably noticed that NO drum kits on Korg Pa have Genuine Ambience enabled. This is easy to enable with the Drum Editor, but can only be used with AMB and RR kits, while NO dance kits have ambience recorded. Fortunately, Pa models have several GM/XG kits available, which usually have ambience recorded. In general, GM/XG kits also have a higher content of ambience than Korg. Korg has chosen to use Reverb on its Dance styles, which is an artificial way of imitating Genuine Ambience that makes Korg's Dance styles less good than others; the drum kits have a kind of static sound. By using an alternative drum kit instead, the sound becomes significantly more vivid. I have made a demo of Kiss Dance here, first the original without Genuine Ambience, then where I have switched to a RR kit and adjusted all drum elements' ambience to max. Only this, and nothing else. The difference is extreme. |
