NETFLIX - SERIOUS VIOLATION OF GDPR - Chello - 01-28-2026 NETFLIX - SERIOUS VIOLATION OF GDPR This is a company that everyone probably knows about worldwide. I have been a customer for many years, but will never be again. The reason is that with my fiber network from Altibox I have "free" access to Netflix, by choosing from the points I have. I therefore ended my many years of subscription to Netflix, and chose this "free" with points from Altibox. When I later opted out of Netflix and chose another instead, my bank account was automatically debited by Netflix..! I sent a complaint to Altibox where I demanded my money back and that THEY should arrange this, which they reluctantly agreed to - they claimed that this was my responsibility..! I got the money refunded, but the same thing happened again later - my bank account was debited once again, and I repeated the claim to Altibox, whereupon they said that this was the last time they would arrange a refund. When I go to My Page at Netflix, I see that the card details still exist, even though I am no longer a customer. Worse - I cannot DELETE them, and there is no way to contact Netflix. This is a serious breach of GDPR and should have been reported to the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), but I don't trust them to do their job, as with everything else these days. Both Netflix and Altibox violate GDPR in this case. I have made countless complaints to public authorities over the past few years, but have never been heard, while in previous years I won all of them. RE: NETFLIX - SERIOUS VIOLATION OF GDPR - whitecolin1 - 01-29-2026 Every company has an angle to make money, the lack of customer service or the fabricated response make getting anything done impossible. Like yourself i have have various issues over the last few years. On one occasion I was told in order to keep an account I had to scan a form of ID passport and my paypal login. Obviously i didnt do it.but we all know emails can be hacked and giving photos of my details is ludicrous. Their is no regulation its a sad .state we are in. |
