I HAVE FOUND MY NEW INSTRUMENT - Chello - 12-15-2025 I HAVE FOUND MY NEW INSTRUMENT I'm keeping my Pa5X, because it actually just keeps getting better. The new instrument is a Stage Piano, which has the best grand pianos and electric pianos on the market. These are even better than those found on the Pa5X. The electric piano is my favorite instrument. It also has a revolutionary new layout that no one else has. I have to save up more money to afford it, but the decision has been made. RE: I HAVE FOUND MY NEW INSTRUMENT - mb_pa5x - 12-15-2025 The Korg Grandstage X has the EP-1 electrical piano engine. The EP-1 is also available as a VST/AU plugin which I bought some time ago. This plugin sounds very good, indeed better as the electric piano voices on the Pa5X. The Pa5X does not have the EP-1 engine but as far as I know uses samples based on the EP-1 voices. Likewise, the Pa5X has many samples from the SV-2, Kronos and Nautilus, but lacks their sound engines. These samples sound much better on the Kronos and Nautilus than on the Pa5X - the difference is enormous. Because the Grandstage X has 7 sound engines, many sound types will be reproduced better than with e.g. MODX M, which only has 3 engines. The Pa5X only has 1, which is standard for arrangers, but this engine is exceptionally good, although never as good as a dedicated sound engine for e.g. electric pianos. |
