HOW BUSINESS IS RUNNED TODAY

What does this have to do with music ?
EVERYTHING !

In the past (in the 90s and before), we musicians could borrow instruments home for free for testing.
As far as I know, this is no longer possible in my area - everything must be paid for before lending, and many stores require compensation for lending, because after lending the item must be sold as demo-used.

Today, the individual store often does not own the item they sell - it is owned by the importer, who essentially appears as an investor.

Even though the importer alone bears the risk of the investment, the earnings are significant when the product is purchased by a customer.

Internet-based businesses are an eldorado for those who want to run a store without having to make investments.

An increasingly used model consists of the store having a so-called remote warehouse, which actually means that they do not have the item at all.

I experienced this most recently when I ordered my MODX M8, which was in remote storage at Yamaha and owned by them - when the order was confirmed, I paid for the item via a payment service that 4Sound and Yamaha jointly own.

When you as a customer order a product, it must be paid in advance, and the company waits to order until a certain number of orders are available, and you may risk having to wait for months before you receive the item.

They thus borrow your money completely free of charge, while before they had to use their own saved liquid funds for purchases, so that the item was actually in stock.

TEMU is an example of such a business - STARE AWAY!

More and more well-established companies today use companies like Temu, which often import from China and have an astronomical profit - you can import the item yourself and typically pay a tenth of the price.

Elon Musk is another, and he is, as is well known, the richest man in the world - at OUR expense.

He borrowed from the start everything from friends and speculators, while the product Tesla was a total failure for a long time, resulting in lost capital for investors.

In addition, Elon Musk shows insane greed with Tesla, as it requires premium connectivity (for satellite maps and live traffic data) and subscription for charging services..!

Tesla is also known for being the brand with the most errors of all on the market and having the worst service of all in Norway.

I NEVER trade with TEMU, and a Tesla will never be relevant.

Hopefully, manufacturers of music equipment will never be as greedy as Elon Musk and demand payment for daily use of something we have already paid too much for..?

Funny you say that there was a music shop near where I used to live that would lend out equipment to test. They did lend me a Gem Ws Module for two weeks
