I'M LEAVING KORG - Chello - 10-13-2025 I'M LEAVING KORG I've always been a staunch Korg fan, but the launch of the Pa5X has changed that. Never before have I experienced so many ups and downs, and the latest experiences have been too much. When buttons stop working properly in addition to many basic advanced functions never being fixed, the limit has been reached after 3 years of lies. I've put my Pa5X up for sale today, and expect to lose quite a bit of money on it, due to circumstances Korg alone is responsible for, as the keyboard does not meet the expected production quality. I will be leaving Korg anyway and will very unlikely ever buy anything new from them. Another important factor is the Pa5X's limitations when it comes to using SF2 sounds and the ability to create multipads - installing SF2 is far too time-consuming and insanely backwards, and the same goes for multipads. And the access to software is almost non-existent, while Yamaha has almost everything, plus YEM can easily and quickly install SF2 in a safe way - try the same with Korg, and risk a total crash. I also have very functional software that can be used to create multipads from style or midi for Yamaha. Another important and completely decisive factor for leaving Korg and switching to Yamaha is that Korg gives a damn about its customers, while Yamaha takes care of theirs. A Montage will be purchased as soon as possible, and possibly also an arranger from Yamaha - maybe a Genos 1 ? RE: I'M LEAVING KORG - Graham UK - 10-13-2025 Chello. I fully understand your position with Korg. You have certainly spent more time with the Pa5X than most other owners and your dicision to sell your board is understandable....Now what next ?. RE: I'M LEAVING KORG - musicalmemoriesuk - 10-13-2025 Ultimately it’s your decision and whatever makes you happy. But if any further updates appear that fix the issues you might look back and wish you hadn’t. I could sell my other arrangers but I won’t because I do like to go back to the older hardware. RE: I'M LEAVING KORG - Datehunter - 10-13-2025 I believe, that your decision is right. The Montage is a very good for all the people, that can play him well. I'm impressed from the montage. The PA5X has a lot very good sounds in it, but yozcare right, Korg don't listen to the owner and don't care. They have made a lot decisions in the past year, that are not acceptable. Probably also a Yamaha arranger, because no Yamaha is full of bugs and works properly. These buttons also cost a lot. RE: I'M LEAVING KORG - Chello - 10-13-2025 (10-13-2025, 05:29 PM)Datehunter Wrote: I believe, that your decision is right. It has a better interface than others, and can be used as an arranger, which I haven't seen before. RE: I'M LEAVING KORG - Datehunter - 10-14-2025 Try the Montage, before you get it. The CFX Concert Piano, the Poly Synth, SFZ Tremolo BPM Sync, Dark Vintage, FM Piano, the Acoustic Guitar and a lot of other sounds are very good. But I don't like the organ sounds, the Strings or the Trumpet. Thank you very much for sharing your opinion, which I really appreciate. You have a solid basis for expressing your opinion about organ sounds. I am especially concerned that drums, pianos, and guitars work well. Harmonica should also work well, but this normally depends on the same engine as the organ, and when the organ is not particularly good, maybe the harmonica is also bad ? RE: I'M LEAVING KORG - Datehunter - 10-14-2025 It is bad, that you don't have music stores, in which you can try the synth out. Everybody has a different Taste. Because of that my only advuce is, to check all the sounds demos that you can find in youtube and make you decision After you have watched and listened to the Montage sounds. |
