DOES YOUR AUDIENCE GET ENGAGED BY YOUR WAY OF PLAYING ?

I have played a lot for dances in the past, which has always engaged me.

I have also played at weddings and for dinner guests.
Playing for dinner guests was very difficult, because they wanted to have peace to eat and the opportunity for some conversation along the way.

Nevertheless: Almost every time the same thing happened:
After a while, some of the guests started to clear away tables and chairs so that they could dance.

Some guests choked on their dinner and protested, but the number of people dancing gradually increased, and so did the atmosphere.

I got many extra playing assignments as a result of these assignments.

At the time, I played acoustic accordion and electronic accordion, and played all genres of music; at all times, whatever the audience wanted.

I think it’s ok having some sort of a program but more importantly learning to read the audience and have a backup plan, be prepared to make changes.
