PLANNED TESTS
In about 1 week I will test the following speakers:
* Yamaha HS-5 active speakers (brand new)
* JBL 2445 JPL Compression Drivers with horns (second hand)
I suspect that the HS-5 is far better than the Tannoy Gold 5 - it should be exciting to test.
The JBL horns are State of the Art, and should be at least as exciting to test, because they theoretically play in the same range as my existing horns.

My ordered Yamaha HS-5 monitors have now arrived and are being prepared for testing.

Ive got the HS7's and they sound very good

My immediate assessment is that the HS-5 is better than the Tannoy Gold 5, but I wouldn't call it a monitor.
We'll see what further testing shows.
