PANNING - AN INCOMPLETE FUNCTION
I've talked about this a bit before.
Many years ago (1995) I used a program from Microsoft that could position all instruments exactly as I wanted by dragging them to the desired position.
This was insanely fun to work with, because I could fix the perspective in any song.
You got a screenshot of the instruments and their placement, and could drag them to the desired position and immediately hear the effect.
The only limitation was that the song had to be in the program's library; you couldn't add a new one.
On our arrangers we only have the option of panning, which only positions horizontally.
There are countless plugins like the program I had, but with far more advanced features, and you can modify any file however you want.
They have different names such as bineural panning, spatial panning and 3D panning.
Why hasn't Korg or anyone else built in a similar function ?
Imagine having a screenshot of all 8 tracks, and being able to drag them wherever you want !
Panning is pretty useless for precisely positioning an instrument, because the horizontal position cannot be adjusted.

Spatial Audio Records were experienced to a certain degree, those years ago I made the Dummy Head.
The Author of Hi-fi Magazine article told me the tie clip microphones to use.
The mics had bass lift mounted against clothing as intended --- but mount them in free air away from reflections they produced a near flat response and made the perfect Dummy Head.

Thanks for your input in the initial part; the recording.
Very few people have in-depth knowledge of the Dummy Head technique, which has always interested me in particular.
I remember well one of my best recordings ever:
I was 17-18 years old, and had just got my own apartment.
I took the accordion, microphones and tape recorder with me down to the basement, where there was a small toilet (very small) with concrete walls.
The ceiling height was very high, which gave fantastic (controlled) acoustics.
Playing there was almost like being in the Royal Albert Hall, and gave an insane pleasure to play.
The recording was also like that; no one believed me when I told them how I had done it.
