ONCE UPON A TIME... - Chello - 12-12-2024 ONCE UPON A TIME... In 1998 I bought my first "proper" keyboard, a Casio CTK 811-ex. Then I bought a Creative AWE64 Gold sound card with boundled Cubase/Cubasis software, which I ran with an Intel Pentium 90 PC. By connecting the keyboard to the sound card's midi connections, it was fairly easy to configure this for Cubase via Casio's manual. That was back then. Today this is MUCH more difficult, and I would argue that development has taken place backwards. Cubase was significantly easier to work with back then, and it was not necessary to seek help to understand all the functions, as they were logical. The sound card came with a number of programs from Steinberg, and all of them were incredibly logically structured. This logic is not there today. |
