9000 PRO: HARDWARE FAILURE CONFIRMED - Chello - 12-05-2024 9000 PRO: HARDWARE FAILURE CONFIRMED After stressing about getting the OS updated and backup installed, no errors were corrected. After some testing, I can confirm that the problem is due to a hardware failure: All styles in 8 Beat work, but only these. ALL styles I copy to Flash Directory 1 work; no matter which ones. NONE of the styles I copy to the other locations in Flash Directory work, no matter which styles I copy. All styles in all other locations work as they should, except Ending 3. Everything can be used as normal, as long as I avoid using Ending 3 and use Ending 1/2 instead. RE: 9000 PRO: HARDWARE FAILURE CONFIRMED - Graham UK - 12-05-2024 Chello. But the styles you mention are posted by Gunnar 3 (Gunnar Johnny), who is a very serious person. He ran the world's largest forum for Technics in his time, and I have used many of his posted styles for Technics, all of which were 100% original. I would therefore believe that the styles he has posted are genuine. I used the floppy that I installed the OS with, because this one is OK: otherwise the process would never have been able to be performed. Same result as before. Yes; all styles I swap to the 8BEAT flash slot work. It is not the styles that are the cause, but a missing or corrupted address in the system, which is located deeper in the structure and cannot be restored by reinstalling the OS or available data disks. A footswitch solved the problem. RE: 9000 PRO: HARDWARE FAILURE CONFIRMED - titobal - 12-06-2024 On the other perhaps you could check the hardware of the keyboard using the Test program, info taken from the service manual, maybe something will raise independantly from the footswitch fix How to enter the Test Program [AUTO MODE] While pressing the [DEMO], [EXIT], and [INTRO A] buttons, turn on the power switch. [MANUAL MODE] While pressing the [DEMO], [EXIT], and [INTRO B] buttons, turn on the power switch. Proceeding through the Test Program To select the program number, use the [NEXT] and [BACK] buttons. To start the test, press the [START/STOP] button. When the test result is OK, the LCD will display "*" before the test name. When the test result is no good, press the [DEMO] button or [C1] key. The test program will then wait for the next selection. When the switch is pressed, a pre-assigned note is output. (With some switches, the corresponding LED will light up.) Also check the dial by turning it; the LCD should display "OK". The LCD will display the numbers from 50 -100 when turning the dial clockwise from the center, and the LCD will display the numbers from 0 -50 when turning the dial counter-clockwise from the center. 36. 036:All LED On Check that all panel LEDs are lit. 37. 037:RedLED On Check that all red panel LEDs are lit. 38. 038:GreenLED On Check that all green panel LEDs are lit. 43. 043:All LCD On Check that all LCD dots are on. 44. 044:All LCD Off Check that all LCD dots are off. 46. 046:Pedal1 Chk Connect the foot switch into the SWITCH 1 terminal. Check that the C3 note sound is produced when the pedal is depressed, and that the C4 note sound is produced when the pedal is released. Check that the C3 note sound is produced when the foot pedal is at minimum and the C4 note sound is produced when it is at maximum. 52. 052:AfterTouch Chk Check that the C3 note sound is produced when any key on the keyboard is pressed, and check that the C4 note sound is produced when the key is released. The test results will appear on the LCD. 53. 053:Midi Chk After connecting the MIDI IN jack and MIDI OUT jack (both 1 and 2) with a MIDI cable, execute the test. Set the HOST SELECT switch to MIDI. Check that the C3 and C4 note sounds are produced and the LCD displays "OK". (MIDI-A: C3, MIDI-B: C4) If there is no output after one second, it is judged NG. 54. 05:To Host Chk Connect pin 3 to pin 5 and pin 6 to pin 8 of the TO HOST terminal, and execute the test. Check that the following note sounds when changing the HOST SELECT switch position according to the LCD; the LCD will display "OK".
