WHAT I LIKE AND DISLIKE ABOUT PA5X - Chello - 05-12-2024 WHAT I LIKE AND DISLIKE ABOUT PA5X PROS: * It has the best layout ever made * The effects are the best I've seen and are easier to modify than ever * The touch screen is the best of all tried so far * All buttons are very precise * The sound quality can be as good as Kronos or better with the right edit CONS: * The X-Fader is very imprecise and very difficult to maneuver * The grooved surface of the chassis should never have been chosen, because it is a nightmare to keep clean * Most of the lamps have defects in the form of black lines/spots on the button illumination * A bug in the Drum Editor results in repeatedly needing to exit and reenter, because everything locks up when changing values * Finalizer's volume meter is not truthful - it shows 2dB too little, but in many cases much more * Limiter cannot be used on styles that have been converted from other manufacturers, and the same applies to styles created from midi - because the sound is heavily distorted * Styles that have a high dynamic level with many active sounds sound compressed * The keybed is better than on previous models, but could have been better * A top model should have impact sensitivity in the left part of the key section. Certain Yamaha models have a certain amount of impact sensitivity, such as the Tyros4 and A-3000. Both OASYS, Kronos and Nautilus have full impact sensitivity, while the Pa5X has none at all..? * The joystick is good, but not as good as e.g. Kronos |
