In common with your goodself---i still have my old KN5000 packed away upstairs---As i paid £2k for it in 1998 and the music shop only offered £50 for it a few years ago---there it will stay---i use KN6000 and KN7000 now---The K5 has on it one feature in particular that the later models do not have (acoustic illusion) and i don,t know why, as its a great effect!!!!---some of the styles on the k5 are better in my opinion, to the later machines---luckily they can be "lifted" and moved on to these RE: Technics KN6000 - All in One - musicalmemoriesuk - 02-04-2024 I won’t part with any of my older arrangers, the kn5000 does have a good speaker system . Like the kn5000, my gem wk4 and soliton ms60 not going anywhere even if they do have a few war wounds RE: Technics KN6000 - All in One - Graham UK - 02-04-2024 The Technics KNs sold well with a good customer following. Unfortunately the main company Panasonic's decided both KEYS & Hi-F small sales and not worth their effort compared to their other main brands. This was during my Hi-Fi working days so I had contact with the sales team. It is not good news when a competitor stops producing products as it does keep the competition on its toes. RE: Technics KN6000 - All in One - musicalmemoriesuk - 02-04-2024 Makes you wonder where the r n d team for these arranger companies ended up, if they went to other companies. I know that several of those at Technics joined Korg and Ketron afterwards, which influenced the development of their models. The KN series was the best of all in its time, and had more variations than others. Panasonic resumed production of Technics HiFi components in 2014/2016, and today supplies many really expensive high-end products. Imagine if they had also done this with their keyboards. RE: Technics KN6000 - All in One - musicalmemoriesuk - 02-04-2024 As with the people who worked for general music. I don,t blame you---only the later technics models came close---still gives the competition a good run for it,s money even today The K5 has one major drawback---the later models had a dedicated slider for accompliment volume which addressed this and is a major and necessary advantage over it Some of the rythmns were tweeked---but not always for the better (in my opinion)---hence "lifting" some of them for the K6---K7 as custom styles |
