PA5X'S UPDATED STYLES ARE WORSE THAN THE ORIGINALS
When I have now worked a lot with adding effects to styles, this has mostly worked smoothly and predictably.
One of the first things I did when I got the Pa5X was to copy all the internal styles to an SD card so I could edit them.
When I started editing Latin styles, strange things started happening:
No style sounded as expected, and was totally different from what I thought was the original.
Thought was the original, because it wasn't..?
When I listened to an original Latin style from the Pa5X internal and compared this to the one I had saved from OS 1.0.0, these were very different.
This applies to ALL Latin styles, as well as ALL Latin Dance styles.
The ones from OS 1.0.0 are better.
A closer examination reveals why:
Several styles have had effects on drums removed (or changed), several styles have had an additional filter on bass, which limits (destroys) the bass.
Several styles have had more effects added for tracks other than bass and drums, at the expense of these.
The versions from OS 1.2.0 also have clear compression problems (override), probably because there are too many effects that are active - it seems as if the polyphonic limit is exceeded - overdrive occurs, even if this cannot be seen on the level indicator.
I have carried out tests from several styles from all genres, and fortunately only Latin and Latin Dance styles have been "upgraded".
All these styles have too weak bass and drums, while other instruments have an over-focus.
Styles I want to edit from Latin and Latin Dance must be taken from OS 1.0.0, because those from OS 1.2.0 constitute a downgrade in quality.
Has Korg got new sound engineers ?

Can you show a comparison and is it restricted to latin?

Comparing styles in Mixer Insert FX shows the differences.
I can make some Mp3 demos of some of the original styles.
Only Latin and Latin Dance are affected.
