Korg Pa5X - expanding storage with micro sd - Robinez - 07-12-2023

Today i've added two micro SD cards to my Pa5X. The internal korg disk is way to small to store all those large libraries we have (mp3 backing tracks, midi files, backups, etc).
So i've selected two 256 Gigabyte cards for this. I've choosen the cards: Samsung EVO 256 GB MicroSDXC cards. They are 17 euro's (on bol.com) and are working perfectly in the korg pa5X.

It's just a matter of installing them in the two micro sd slots and then you can format them on the pa5x yourself. the SD1 slot is the high speed slot (great for samples and mp3's), the SD2 is the normal speed slot (perfect for backups and midi files).

So for 34 euro's I have now 512 gigabyte space in the pa5X, that is a nice upgrade :)

I did this on day one when I bought my pa5x.

Qui -

I just installed a 256GB microSD card in slot 1 of my PA5X.   Correct me if I'm wrong:   it appears that the PA5X operating system effectively treats the SD card  simply as an extension/expansion of the factory-installed internal memory - namely the internal and microSD memories are treated as one contiguous space. Is that correct?  I say that because I was expecting to see the microSD card identified as a separate addressable volume in the PA5X's file manager when I attempted to load some of the songs from the Osimo songbook.  But it looks like the PA5X simply added them to the single factory-installed songbook.
And if in fact the PA5X combines internal and microSD memory into effectively a single contiguous space, is there any command available to see how much total user memory is available (as one starts filling it up with user-defined content)?
