THE ART OF SAYING WHAT YOU WANT - Chello - 06-05-2023 THE ART OF SAYING WHAT YOU WANT Since I was a child, I have spoken my opinion about people and things. It often happened that a gang stopped me, held me tight and asked if it was true that I had said "that". Yes, I replied, and received a blow to the face. Dare you repeat that, one asked - yes, I replied, and received another blow. It went on like this until they got fed up and left, because I didn't give up. It also happened that a gang stopped me, held me and asked the same thing, and I answered yes, at the same time I hit the person who asked, and went berserk on everyone, until they ran away in panic. I am a Viking, after all. These experiences have shaped me into who I am today. I have often been the only one who has defended a person that everyone hates, and here the essence of my headline is expressed: * You can say whatever you want, as long as it is done respectfully. * You can give positive criticism endlessly, as long as it is constructive. * However, you can NOT give negative criticism endlessly, because no one can stand this in the long run. We all have both negative and positive qualities; no matter how bad or good we might be at something. Worth thinking about..? RE: THE ART OF SAYING WHAT YOU WANT - musicalmemoriesuk - 06-05-2023 The thing is in terms of Arranger Keyboards people obsess about having the latest greatest arrangers because they think people will thing of them differently, just as if you have a sports car or on old banger. When really it only you that you want to impress, yes you might turn a few heads, but In reality everyone else is preoccupied by themselves. The most important thing is enjoy what you have and people take you as they find you. We are our own worst critics and we think ‘what if people don’t like my music or how I do something on my Arrangers’. From my point of view keep doing what you do enjoy what you do. Learning from others but also make your own path in doing things. RE: THE ART OF SAYING WHAT YOU WANT - whitecolin1 - 06-06-2023 I agree with James here, its not necessarily the best keyboard you own but the one you love. When i got the tyros 1 it was amazing. Through the years I got pretty much everything not necessarily getting the best out of all of them and when i sold the tyros after not playing it for some time, really marveled at what a good keyboard it was. Too many people get caught up with the Yamaha/korg debate its all down to personnel taste. The genos blew me away at the time but this is a lot down to marketing. The Korg in my opinion was released to early, with a very poor marketing campaign and poor customer service. However Chello was right explaining the possibilities and now Chellos additional styles and Mr Robinez tutorials, you realize this keyboard is immense, its sad we have too beat the drum when thats Korg`s job. My conclusion for most of us, we don`t for the most part prepared to do the hard yards to learn the keyboards possibilities ( myself included) James gets some great orchestrations out of the pa700. We all have an opinion just some have the knowledge and experience and no how to validate it. On another note I always look at what people are posting because not everything is great ,but you get some hidden gems and the person posting has taken the time to do so. RE: THE ART OF SAYING WHAT YOU WANT - OrganPlayer - 06-06-2023 Yes that's true, you have to let everyone in their value, that's how I think about it. When I was little, I come from a large family, there was simply no money, so not even to purchase an expensive instrument, I played on a Bontepi organ until I was 17 years old, terrible sound, there was simply no money for an expensive organ to plan. when I started organ lessons I had a small keyboard I always played on it went on air terrible sound but I could practice. She always promised me an organ but never got it. I was allowed to go to the music school every day and practice on an organ outside of the lessons. I was always studying, it didn't come naturally to me, I really had to study for it, so I didn't have a childhood, never played outside, didn't go to discotheques, boys never understood me, no time for friends I was 19 years old met my wife and am still married to her I still play whenever I can. My illness with buying instruments started when I went to work, earned my own money. and bought too many instruments it started with Organs wow my most beautiful was a wersi Organ. Then the keyboards synthesizers came out, wow had way too many, it's a disease with me. And I know from my childhood until I worked I had instruments that sounded horrible. So far that disease has never gone away, hence the very last model the Korg Pa5x arrives tonight. I've had a job for 2 years now, I work for the pharmacists in Weesp and Muiden And I must say with great pleasure , so also spend more money . that is why I can now purchase a korg Pa5x. Will there be a Genos 2 I don't know if I can control myself time will tell. I will never kick anyone in the ground with their work how good or bad someone is at what they do. Enjoying what you do is the most important thing. You have to think like this there is always someone better than you, who cares how good or bad you are. I know what it is I also had to start at the bottom, some people have the masel that they can do it without learning or whatever Music has dominated my entire life and I will play to the end wherever that is. But I will treat everyone with respect. And so it must be. Organ player.
