100% agree.
Facebook is every narcissist's paradise.

So I know the good and the bad about the Pa5X and it still tempts me.
23 there is no bad for the 720, not for me!!!

Mary. I understand your interest in Pa5X. There are many Genos owners also owning Pa5X.

Some years ago I owned a number of early model KORGs and found them very good, I do like Korg's voice samples.
Latest purchase was Pa1000 which unfortunately I returned because of the tacky key bed but the OS itself was good with plenty of editing options.

The Pa5X like other top end brands can be complicated by providing many options the average user would not use.

My DGX670 however has proven to me LESS CAN BE MORE.

This is very true. I considered getting the 670, it really appealed, but then I got concerned I'd miss some of the arranger features I used to enjoy so I decided to go arranger again.

Usually in the mornings I'll play my keyboard as if it is a piano, and I enjoy that even if I'm rusty. I will be practising and re-learning forever, and that's good. But in the evenings the bells and whistles come on and I play with the keyboard, the arranger features. Love that too.

So I like buttons, and sounds, and rhythms, and possibilities... and that's what appeals with the Pax5. Different buttons and a whole new learning curve. I don't need it today, or even tomorrow, I don't really need it at all! But I'll be keeping an eye out. Maybe someday.

Aprilla. My last full arranger was T5-76 was a good board having a nice Key-Bed.

We all have different requirements, mine being Number one is Key-Bed quality and feel giving me more playing enjoyment.
This DGX is the first weighted board I have owned and for its price does not deserve to be this good.
Chello had a DGX670 and he is more critial than most players.

The DGX does have limited arranger facilities but plays most of the Yamaha styles without Revo Drums.

The Pa5X scores high by having a nice quality build also containing good Key-Bed.

If I wake up tomorrow being 10 years younger a Pa5X would be on order !!!.

Mine being Number one is also keybed quality.
The DGX series is a must have for those who prefer piano weighted keys, and the very first DGX had even better keys.

The 9000 Pro is the closest thing to a synth weighted OASYS, and it's almost identical key model to the OASYS, and second best of all.
It also has an open soundstage that I haven't heard on any other.

The Tyros 1 has a similar keybed to the 9000 Pro, but not quite as good.

The Pa1X 61 had a keybed that was much better than the Pa5X, and the Pa2X Pro is also better, while the Pa3X and Pa4X are terrible.

The Pa700 has a standard keybed that is very similar to Yamaha's cheap models, and I assume the Pa1000 is pretty similar.

The Ketron Audya 76 has a better keybed than the Pa5X.

It almost feels a bit surreal to admit that the Pa5X has the worst keybed of all I have, but that's not to say it's bad, because it's pretty good and just good enough.

The Genos 1 is quite similar to the Pa5X.

RE: PA5X USERS AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF INACTIVITY - musicalmemoriesuk - 05-20-2025

As you will probably be aware I run a number of groups on Facebook both for Arranger Keyboards and my local community one of which has over 43k members. Everything is locked down and moderated.
Any problems are dealt with promptly.

I think if you was to ask me twelve months ago I was going to have a Pa5x I would look at you funny it would be something I would surely have dreamed of, let alone having a Genos as well.

That was one week I won’t forget in a long time, unless a Ketron module appears, who knows.

I don't have that sort of control LOL

It has been a lot of years since I had a keyboard but if I get on well enough with my 720, I won't try very hard to resist

Aprilla. I should have added regardless of any changes (not likely) the DGX670 would be staying.
The weighted Key-Bed has improved my playing.
The button pushing menu was at first a pain but not now.
Whisper...I'm still puzzled how they have produced it at its low price ?.
