Pre LEQ Gain -15dB

Here are 2 demos I just made.
I've used Early Reflections with max gain 127 (Master FX3), as well as a little on the other tracks, but none on the solo piano.

This is clearly too much, but it shows what effect can be achieved.

Did you set the wet / dry parameters for the early reflections to wet?

The thing is if you already have ambience on the drums I imagine a very small amount of the early reflections. Maybe the early reflections isn’t actually needed on the drum track or less.

There is a difference in the sound of the style but as you mention too much of the early reflections.

Can you adjust this in the drum family settings so only certain parts of the drum kit get the early reflections?

I left Wet / Dry untouched as 30:70
I can adjust this in the drum family, and I think this is a better solution.

It absolutely is.
I'll test more configurations.

Who would have known something I was trying to achieve with dual reverb was there in front of our noses.

But I guess it’s all part of my learning experience, but back the theory of what I was trying to achieve to a certain extent I got there.

If nothing else, you've learned how the effect is built.

I'm pretty sure that most desired effects can be built by using an existing one as a base, and if necessary combining two or three effects to get the desired new one.

I have found the recipe.

.mp3   Jazz Quartet original second take.mp3 (Size: 3.49 MB / Downloads: 83)

.mp3   Jazz Quartet edit second take.mp3 (Size: 3.48 MB / Downloads: 81)

Now the brush (Snare Drum) is exactly how I want it.  2

I have made the following changes:
- Reduced FX3 from 127 to 34
- Modified default settings for Early Reflections:
- ER Time 10
- Pre Delay 0
- From Wet / Dry to Wet
- Pre LEQ Gain -15dB
- Pre HEQ Gain +15dB

Insert FX (icon)
- Added Stereo Limiter for Snare Drum
- Reset all EQ (!) in Drum Editor, and only kept added ambience
- Adjusted down volume for drums from 127 to 100

The second is much better and has more a live feeling about it. As if you’re at a gig listening to the band.

What was your recipe out of interest?

Oops forgot to read the whole post was just listening to the audio.

What does these setting sound like with a completely contrasting style like a rock style?
