KETRON AUDYA - ONE OF THE BEST
My current Audya was purchased with a broken screen and hard drive.
I have spent days reading what AJ and Henni write about how to fix all things, but this has not solved my problems.
I managed to fix the screen, but how to create a new disk ?
I had cloned a previous Audya's hard drive, but needed the drive itself...
A new blank disk bought from eBay did not work at all.
Then I got an idea:
The Tyros1 had an additional 40GB disk independent of its OS. What if I put the cloned Audya on this via the USB connection ?
The process went perfectly fine, but took 9 hours due to USB 1.0 speed.
This was then mounted in Audya, and the keyboard started up as normal.
Everything worked as it should, except styles with Audio drums, which were out of sync; all together.
Also, styles marked with R did not work.
This was because the cloned version was not basic as it had 3 upgrade pins installed - the serial number no longer matched.
My previous Audya had the same problem, but at the time I found a program that could change the hard drive serial number with binary values, and I couldn't find this program again.
So how could I get all the styles to work normally ?
The answer is actually very simple:
By installing OS 4.1a.
After this was installed, all styles marked with R worked, and most Audio styles as well.
The remaining updates 4.1b/4.2b/5.3d/5.4b/5.4c will be installed one by one and hopefully all styles will then work properly.
So I now have an Audya that cost almost nothing that works very well, and many of the internal styles are better than both those on the Genos and the Pa5X.
