Dual Reverb On Tyros4?
#1
So today I thought I would see if I could replicate my Dual Reverb on the Tyros 4.

I did get some positive results.

Firstly I set the global reverb for both the style and left and right sounds to a room reverb for the ambience.

Next for the left and right parts I setup a reverb block for each for the second reverb at this time I’ve set these to a hall reverb (which may change yet)

I set DSP Block 1 for the style to Hall (which acts more like a bus effect for the style parts the return level I set to 127)

I rebalanced all the style parts.

Next I started to add in the global ambient reverb finally I set the levels for the second reverb.

I replicated this with the left and right parts (using the dsp blocks assigned to each sound)

Im at the early stages of testing but it does work. Obviously I will upload a demo to see what you think.

The one thing I have noticed is that when using the reverb effect in the style and the left / right hand sounds is that some of the parameters are omitted when used as an insert effect.

Even on a 14 year old arranger it’s still possible with a bit of creativity to create the effect of its £6 k counterpart.

It is typical for Yamaha to offer functions that have limited access, such as the reverb effect having fewer available parameters used as an insert effect.

A lot can probably be done with T4 which I have never tested, but probably requires it to be stored as RGT, which limits its use to T4 only.

I wonder how my Ketron Audya 76 compares, which has features not even found on the Genos2 or Pa5X.
I need to get the screen fixed before I can test it.

Accurate.
There are always alternative theories, because no theory is absolute.

Second day of working on Tyros4 dual reverb.

Ive been workingn more with the second reverb at the moment ive been experimenting with the stage1 but then i change the initial delay (pre delay) and reverb time.

At this stage ive left the eq parameters as is in both of the reverbs.

Doint experimenting like this is breaking a new pair of shoes.

While going through the different reverb effects I found one which is Accoustic Room. I have now started to use this for the ambience. Im just trying to figure the effect return parameter. Only thing I can think is this the same as the wet / dry on the Korg?

Looking in the manual it definitely is like a bus effect.

Where it’s sent to all parts (dsp 1 In the case of a style).

Then the actual level is set individually for each part.

So im thinking if the return is set to 127 then this would equate to a completely wet signal.

One thing that does strike me even though now I have more knowledge on the use of effects is how little documentation there is, for anyone who wants to or wanted to delve deeper.

Just as with Korg there is no standardised names for the parameters.
