KEYBOARDS, SYNTHS & MODULES I HAVE HAD
#1
Big Grin
KEYBOARDS, SYNTHS & MODULES I HAVE HAD

Casio CTK 811-ex Bought 1998
Surprisingly good, but the keys cracked all the time ...

Roland EXR-7 76 Bought 2006
Very good keybed and good sound, but the system crashed all the time ...

Yamaha DGX-620 Bought 2007
The best keybed Yamaha has ever made. Absolutely amazing to play on; just like a piano.
Very well mixed, and very good sounds.
The DGX series represents a totally different sound philosophy than Yamaha`s other series, and is in my opinion the best buy of all - other brands included.

RECOMMENDED

Yamaha PSR-550 Bought 2007
Engaging to play on, but the wheels were too close to the keybed.

Yamaha PSR-S700 Bought 2007
Same problem as PSR-550.

Korg Pa800 Bought 2007
Perhaps the best of all Korg`s. Absolutely amazing setup for microphones.

RECOMMENDED

Yamaha Tyros1 Bought 2008
Best of all up to the A3000.

Korg Pa3X 61 Bought 2014
A solid workhorse that I had for many years. Very good.
Has some absolutely unique wonderful voices, which even Kronos can't match.

RECOMMENDED

Casio WK-7500 Bought 2015
The worst I have ever tried. Cruel sound.

Yamaha Tyros5 61 Bought 2015
Terrible sound with original speakers. I was intimidated and sold it immediately. Today I know that this is among the best.

Ketron Audya5 61 Bought 2016
Discontinued technology at a high price. Very good drums; but what about the rest ..?

Yamaha PSR S950 Bought 2016
Incredibly engaging to play on, but terribly poorly mixed. Sharp sound.

Solton X8 Chromatic Bought 2017
A freak; difficult to play and poor sound.

Yamaha Tyros4 black Bought 2017
One of the best, but it has serious bugs that make storage unstable - you never know what will be stored.

Korg Pa4X 61 Bought 2018
Slightly better sound than Pa3X, but I did not like the bad screen and layout regarding the use of SD cards.

Roland BK-7m Bought 2018
Completely unique wizard for MIDI. Not the best sound in the world. Demanding in use with its small display and poor wheel.

Technics KN-6000 Bought 2018
Terrible layout and sound. Good keybed.

Technics KN-7000 Bought 2018
Very complex and awful layout. Very good organ and accordion sounds. The others were awful. Not possible to edit own styles ..? Sick. I sold it because of this.

Korg Pa3X 61 Bought 2018
Mistake purchase. This was one of the first to be produced by Korg, and cannot be compared to later versions. Check serial number before buying!

Roli Seaboard RISE 49 Bought 2018
A freak of an instrument - completely hopeless.
The keys are perceived as sticky, and the layout of the included software is idiotic.
Never again ROLI.

Roland BK-7m Bought 2019
Bought again. Why..? Sold just as fast.

Deebach MAX Plus (actually Medeli A1000) Bought 2019
The world's best sound heard from an arranger. Deebach BlackBox is claimed to have the same sounds, but this is pure lies and deception. Unfortunately a very cheap chassis with limited edit options.

Yamaha Genos 76 Bought 2019
A big disappointment. Very good keybed; only DGX has better. Professional editing functions are omitted. Big mistake, Yamaha.

Korg Pa700 Bought 2020
Pretty good, but not good enough for my needs. Value for your money.

RECOMMENDED

Korg Kronos2 73 Bought 2020
Not as good as people say. The best in the world on sound, but an absolutely awful layout. A nightmare to work with.

Tyros4 61 Bought 2020
Had to have this again, but this had at least the same limitations as the Anniversary Edition. One of the better ones on the market.

Ketron Audya 76 Bought 2020
Do not believe what people say. Very good drums - but what about the rest? Old technology at a high price, and extremely unstable OS.

Deebach BlackBox Bought 2021
A useless box that does not meet any expected standard.

Korg Pa2X Pro Bought 2021
Many say that this is the best from Korg, but I strongly disagree. It has many sounds, but the sound is clearly worse than Pa3X's.

Yamaha A3000 Bought 2021
Best of all Yamaha arrangers. The sound of some instruments is not very good, but all other things make up for this.
Awesome sound with SF2 drums.

Medeli AKX10 Bought 2021
The worst sound I ever have heard, but the market's best touch screen; much like Pa3X.

Korg Nautilus 73 Bought 2021/2022
By no means a worthy successor to Kronos. The layout is colossally messy; worse than Kronos'.
Many serious bugs - it is impossible to go back in several menus. Generally poorly mixed.

Korg Pa3X 61 Bought 2022
In my opinion the best Korg has ever made.
The market's best touch screen and Master EQ.

RECOMMENDED

Yamaha DGX-670 Bought 2022 - existing of today
The final choice.
The best Yamaha has made to date - regardless of price.

RECOMMENDED

Korg Krome EX-88 Bought 2022
An incredibly good keybed - a pity that nothing else meets the expected standard. Too few buttons and everything has to be done from the screen. Terribly poorly mixed, miserable combinations and programs, as well as the sound is below the expected standard.

I think you ought to buy yourself a music shop. Then you can test every keyboard you have in stock and you'll know which is the best and why 22

I answered a little too fast - I read wrong.  22

If I wished I had kept some?
Many, but Deebach MAX Plus, Korg Pa800 and Pa3X are the favorites.

If I could, I would swap my Pa2X Pro with one of these.
Pa2X Pro will be replaced with another anyway - I know which, but do not say anything yet.  35

@Barrie
Good idea - I actually had my own company when I was 23 years old, and many times later I almost started a company again.

Imagine if I had all the keyboards in a room and could have A / B tested them ...  38 40 37

You never had a General Music Arranger? Although they are no longer with us.

I tried a kn7000 didn’t like the layout of the keyboard with the fold down display.

I've never had a GEM, but my brother had one that I got to try from time to time. Although the KN-7000 is ranked by many as the world's best keyboard (something I strongly disagree with), this has never achieved what ALL the top models of GEM have:

A production company specializes in GEM, and develops upgraded components, which make the models as modern as anything else. No one else does anything like that, and GEM's products get almost eternal life.

Technics has never been close to GEM in terms of quality. An interesting fact is that the Tyros1 completely outmaneuvered the KN-7000, even though the Tyros1 came on the market first. This led to Technics having to discontinue the production of keyboards.

I have had both, and can confirm that KN-7000 had no chance against Tyros1 - in all areas.

Just.  22

I have realized that my needs are a bit special, because I make extensive edits, something most people never do.
If I had only played the keyboard, almost everyone would have been superb.

This steady replacement has also cost a lot of money, much because I am an impatient person who must have done things quickly.

However, a few keyboards have been sold at a profit:
I bought Technics KN-7000 for 1000 EURO, and sold it shortly after for 1600 EURO.  19
