Subject Registrations...Feedback Please.

Subject Registrations...I would like sensible feedback from other keyboard players.
I have played arranger keyboards for the past 50 years (yes, I'm that old).
Previously Editing & Adjusting styles to my liking I have been able to resave as a user style by just a small rename indicating to me that it's a favorite I like to play.

Now owning a DGX670 there is no option to save style changes as I have previously been used to doing  because all editing has to be saved as a Registration (rgt).
Now for a registration to play as saved it has to be able to find that style...so what is the best known method of doing this ?.
Does the Style & rgt need to be saved in the same folder on USB Stick ?.

(Note the USER Memory is only 20mb which I save for Voice edits VCE's.)
Appreciate all feedback.

The style & RGT can be stored where you want - what is important is that the reference to stored space does not change.

For example, if a style of an RGT is placed on a USB stick, it must be at the exact same address at all times in order to be played.

I would have liked to have known more precisely which styles work best on your DGX, and how the sound in general is in relation to the Tyros5.

As I have said before, I had a DGX many years ago, and this had perhaps the best keybed I have ever tried - much like the Kronos 73.

The different sounds were very good - better than later S models and Tyros models, in my opinion.
Can your DGX play styles directly from the USB stick?

Chello. Can your DGX play styles directly from the USB stick? YES.
I find the early Yammy models Ex PRS2000 & 3000 need less balance changes.

Voice sample sound wise I'm very happy with and also surprised that they are so good from the boards low price point.

Another Forum today suggested styles could be edited in Style Creator but I have yet to try that.

The main reason I poster for replies is I'm getting ocassional problems with a RGT playing the style from the previous selected registration and not the sty it was save with...which means search the USB for the correct style the RGT was saved with.
I have been using the Bonus PlayList RGT's which have just one RGT VAR1, so I have been saving the other other VAR2.VAR3.VAR4.
So far I have not had my problem.

Chello...Your Quote...It is quite possible that I will buy a DGX-670.

It would be great to have some knowledgeable person like yourself join the DGX family because there is a lack of DGX670 knowledge on all forums plus DGX owners don't appear to want to learn more about the board they have purchased.

The OS Menu system could be better but I'm getting to understand it more each day...If I live long enough...Ha!!!

Slightly off topic but this seems to be the thing with pretty much all makes of arranger keyboards.

Once you are sold any keyboard your pretty much left to fend for yourself.

There’s no real tutorials for people to get to grips with there arranger keyboards from the group up in a language that people from all levels can understand.

Thank you for your trusting comment.
I'm pretty sure that DGX is a better choice for very many users.

DGX represents Yamaha at its best, and is in many ways better than the S series and the Tyros series, something I would like to prove.

It is therefore very likely that I will soon buy one, also because I will later buy a Korg Kronos 88 with the same key type.

@graham

Thanks for the video.
I have one more question:

Is it possible to change drums, bass and other instruments for a style as it is for S and Tyros models?
This question may sound silly, but the manuals do not say anything precise about this, and no videos either.

Unfortunately, I do not know the name of the song at 17:05.
